How to Use CPIME
Toggle Input Mode
"粵" mark means that you are now in Cantonese input mode. By clicking this mark or press "Ctrl + j" key as a shortcut, the input mode is toggled between Cantonese (粵) and English (英).
![]() Input and Convert from Pingjam
For example: input "nei" and press space key. "nei" is converted into "你".
Next, let's see the irregular case: Input "ne" and press "k" key. Then "k" isn't displayed and only "ne" is shown. That's because "nek" is not registered in CPIME pingjam database. CPIME shows pingjam alphabets as long as the input alphabets are valid set. In case of words which consist of more than one characters, just input their pingjam consecutively.
Convert from Pingjam including Alphabets
In case of terms which consists of alphabets such as "hoi OT", "OmOK", just input these alphabets as they are. CPIME can convert these terms as long as they are registered in the database.
Select Candidates with the same Pingjam
After pressing space, you can continuously show other converted candidates by pressing space.
When it is end of the candidates, original pingjam alphabets is shown. (* Instead of "space" key, you can show next candidates by DownArrow/LeftArrow key. Previous candidates can be shown by UpArrow/RightArrow key.) ![]() Candidates Words List
Candidates Words List pop-up by pressing space key four times. It is easy to find the word you want to input with Candidates Words List.
As you know, Traditional Chinese (繁體字) characters are complicated, so Candidates Words List uses large-size font. ![]() Narrow One Character By Indicating Tone
When converting one character only with pingjam alphabets, lots of candidates are shown and it is hard to look for the character you want to get. You can narrow the results by adding tone number (from 1 to 9) at the last of pingjam.
Input Cancel with ESC key
You can cancel your input and conversion by pressing ESC key. While the candidate words are displayed, it will be cancelled and go back to pingjam. During pingjam, all input pingjam will be deleted.

You can define your own words and include them into CPIME as a user dictionary.
You can create User Dictionary by the following service. User Dictionary function How to Confirm Current Version
Input "version" and press space key. Then current installed version of CPIME is displayed.
